The Maitland Rugby Union Club has a long and prestigious history that started over 140 years ago, in 1877 when the Seniors was established.
We are Australia’s second oldest rugby club and we have more than 150 senior players. #mrcfamily.
Our club is based out of Marcellin Park, Lorn. We have a fantastic clubhouse with a canteen and licensed bar, and offer excellent coaching and training facilities. This year we have new turf on first field and reckon its the best playing surface in the Hunter!
In 2018, Maitland is fielding 4 senior Blacks teams in the Firsts, Seconds, Thirds & Fourths. The stage is set for a massive 2018 season.
Maitland Junior Rugby (Maitland Blacks) is a Junior Rugby club in the heart of the Hunter Valley for players from 5 to 17 years old, and is part of the Hunter Junior Rugby Union competition.
We are an inclusive and welcoming community club open to girls and boys who want to learn the game of Rugby and its values. We start practice toward the end of February and our playing season runs from March to September, but are open to new players no matter the time of year.
We have an U7 competition based solely at Marcellin (no travel!) with over 100 players and 10 teams who train once per week and play each Saturday morning.
Junior Rugby is a great way for kids to learn the values of teamwork, discipline, and fair play – so please be in touch, or come to a practice session, and be part of our club.
The Maitland Rugby Union Club has a long history with the Senior Women.
After a successful return to the competition in 2015 the Blacks Women continue to build on their strong foundation in 2018 and are looking forward to a huge year.
