MAITLAND RUGBY CLUB – NSW RUGBY UNION CLUB OF THE YEAR
We are Australia’s second oldest rugby club and we have more than 150 senior players #mrcfamily.
Our club is located at Marcellin Park in Lorn, NSW. We have a large, modern clubhouse with a canteen and licensed bar.
We have an experienced and advanced team of coaching staff and are constantly updating our training methods and facilities including a dedicated MRC medical room.
In 2020, Maitland is fielding 4 senior Blacks teams in the Firsts, Seconds, Thirds & Fourths, as well as a Women’s team. The stage is set for a massive year at MRC!
We are an inclusive and welcoming community club open to girls and boys who want to learn the game of Rugby and its values.
We train from the end of February and our playing season runs from March to September. We love new players and helping grow quality players and quality people. All levels of players welcome throughout the season.
We have an Under 7’s competition based solely at Marcellin Park (no travel!) with over 100 players and 10 teams who train once per week and play each Saturday morning. We also field teams from U8 through to U17 including girls only 10-a-side teams.
Junior Rugby is a great way for kids to learn the values of teamwork, discipline, and fair play – so please be in touch, or come to a practice session, and join the MRC family!
The womens team did MRC proud in 2020 being the only side that was able to play amidst the covid-19 pandemic. We are beyond proud to be helping grow women’s rugby in the Hunter region.
Having made it to the Grand Final in 2019, we are geared up and ready to take on bigger and better challenges in the 2020 season.
We welcome all levels of players and look forward to meeting you. Send us an email or message us on facebook for more details.
