MAITLAND RUGBY CLUB – NSW RUGBY UNION CLUB OF THE YEAR
The Maitland Rugby Union Club has a long and prestigious history that started over 140 years ago, in 1877 when the Seniors was established.
We are Australia’s second oldest rugby club and we have more than 150 senior players. #mrcfamily.
Our club is based out of Marcellin Park, Lorn. We have a fantastic clubhouse with a canteen and licensed bar, and offer excellent coaching and training facilities. We have new turf on first field giving us a magnificent playing surface!
In 2019, Maitland is fielding 4 senior Blacks teams in the Firsts, Seconds, Thirds & Fourths. The stage is set for a massive year.
Maitland Junior Rugby (Maitland Blacks) is a junior rugby club in the heart of the Hunter Valley for players from 5 to 17 years old, and is part of the Hunter Junior Rugby Union competition.
We are an inclusive and welcoming community club open to girls and boys who want to learn the game of Rugby and its values. We train from the end of February and our playing season runs from March to September, but are open to new players no matter the time of year.
We have an U7 competition based solely at Marcellin Park (no travel!) with over 100 players and 10 teams who train once per week and play each Saturday morning. We also field teams from U8 through to U17 including girls only 10 a side teams.
Junior Rugby is a great way for kids to learn the values of teamwork, discipline, and fair play – so please be in touch, or come to a practice session, and be part of our club.
The Maitland Rugby Union Club has a long history with the Senior Women.
After a successful return to the competition in 2015 the Blacks Women continue to build and are looking forward to a huge year in 2019.
